US Department of Education
This is the US Department of Education’s web site for students. This site provides information on how to prepare for college, including deciding which college best fits your needs, and tips for researching financial aid information and scholarships.

Fast Web
FastWeb is a wonderful scholarship service. Students can request email notification of new scholarships that match their qualifications. The Internet Public Library has reference materials specifically designed for teens. It also offers advice and practical information on a variety of teen-related issues.

This college search service narrows college choices based on a list of criteria students specify. It also offers online applications for admission.

Making It Count!
This site offer tips on applying to college and how to pay for it. It also contains easy-to-use scholarship, college, and job searches.

Girls & Boys Town
This site provides information on the Girls and Boys Town program. Are you trying to figure out who you are and where you’re going? Growing up can be difficult, but you can find resources at this web site to help you; you can even “chat” with counselors online.

National Institute of Health
The National Institutes of Health’s web site provides health and science resources, in both English and Spanish. This site also links to other NIH institutes.

South Carolina Bar
The web site of the Law-Related Education Division of the South Carolina Bar breaks down consequences for illegal behavior and contains information on South Carolina laws. This site is geared toward teens.

The Department of Energy posts science information and news on this site. Click on the “science for kids of all ages” tab and explore, explore, explore. Created by the Target Corporation, this site is designed to help kids explore their dreams and goals. Students who participate are eligible for scholarships.
